24 kwietnia 1964 roku policjant Lonnie Zamora ścigał pirata drogowego na obrzeżach Socorro (Nowy Meksyk). W pewnym momencie usłyszał ryk i zobaczył płomień. Po zjechaniu w bezdroża zauważył biały, owalny obiekt na nogach oraz dwie niewysokie postacie w białych kombinezonach. Gdy podjechał bliżej, obiekt wystartował z ogromnym hukiem.

On April 24, 1964, police officer Lonnie Zamora was pursuing a speeding driver on the outskirts of Socorro, New Mexico. At one point, he heard a roar and saw a flame. After driving off-road, he spotted a white, oval-shaped object standing on legs, along with two short figures in white suits. As he approached, the object took off with a tremendous roar.

Zamora immediately radioed the police station for backup. State Police Sergeant Sam Chavez arrived at the scene. Together, they secured the area and made notes.
