Goodbye

Cotton candy in the sky,

Rushing as though it were late

To catch the sun’s last spark.

A pushy gust won’t listen

To the prayers of the trees.

Like a thief, it takes the yellows,

The reds, the enduring greens.

Cold raindrops pummel me.

All the sweetness dissolves,

Running down my knees.

In a puddle, I see

Distorted summer dreams.
